I had the opportunity to participate in a Houston area workshop this weekend, called Urban Trash The Dress. Around 50-60 photographers and about 15-20 models participated in this event downtown, in the Theater District. It was a great experience being able to try out a new style of photography with the brides.
I was featured in the Houston Chronicle on Monday! See the image below:
"Trash The Dress" photo shoots have been becoming more and more popular with brides. This kind of photo shoot takes place after the Big Day. The bride tromps through dirt and water and ends up with some great images. You may be wondering: How some one could possibly destroy their sacred gown? And, why don't they just donate their gown or save it? Truth be told, after hours and hours of trying to keep your dress clean (both before and after the ceremony), "it might feel nice to let that heel tear the hem right before splashing into a giant puddle" (Dusty Rhodes, Houston Press).
