Jimmy Class of 2009

Meet Jimmy! Class of 2009! Jimmy is another good look'n senior that I had the privelage of photographing while I was in California.

Here's a sneak peak for Jimmy and his family and friends...

Jamie Class of 2009

Happy New Year every one! Over the holidays my husband and I were in California visiting family. It was nice to be back home and see some familiar sites...and some not so familiar ones. Things change in such a short amount of time.

And speaking of change, on of my sisters will be graduating this summer. Meet Jamie!

Jamie has grown up into an amazing young woman. And might I add, she is quite the tallented photographer (girl after my own heart). I had a blast shooting her senior portraits. Here's a sneak peak!

A Few Of My Favorites...

I know...I know...It's been an incredibly long time since I have updated my dear blog. My goal is to try to keep it a little more up to date. I apologize to those of you who have been looking for updates.

I figured I'd backtrack a bit. Last December I shot photos from the Urban Trash the Dress workshop and I promised some photos...so I thought I'd start off with a few of my favorites from that day.

Here's the first photo. You may remember the article the was featured in the Houston Chronicle. This was the photo I was shooting when they got a picture of me.

Here are a few more...

"Urban Trash The Dress"--Houston Megashoot

The past few months have been very busy. It was nice to take a break from it all and try some thing new last weekend.
I had the opportunity to participate in a Houston area workshop this weekend, called Urban Trash The Dress. Around 50-60 photographers and about 15-20 models participated in this event downtown, in the Theater District. It was a great experience being able to try out a new style of photography with the brides.

I was featured in the Houston Chronicle on Monday! See the image below:

"Trash The Dress" photo shoots have been becoming more and more popular with brides. This kind of photo shoot takes place after the Big Day. The bride tromps through dirt and water and ends up with some great images. You may be wondering: How some one could possibly destroy their sacred gown? And, why don't they just donate their gown or save it? Truth be told, after hours and hours of trying to keep your dress clean (both before and after the ceremony), "it might feel nice to let that heel tear the hem right before splashing into a giant puddle" (Dusty Rhodes, Houston Press).
